If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem. Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Select Library/Caches//Cache.db and move it to the trash. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Chrome starts out ok, but starts to have a lot of stuttering issues and lag. Firefox doesn't play well with Twitch, from my experiences.

When this issue happens, the chat itself stops updating. I can type in the chat input box, but return/enter won't send my message. Have another issue where I can't sometimes type into chat. However, after I followed the directions, it's still happening. I found an article over on Apple Toolbox: This same stream even has my Safari give me the following "Safari Web Content quit unexpectedly": I have to pause/play to get it to continue, but it just stops a few minutes later again. Not pause or just end, but the player acts as if it's still playing, yet no audio is coming thru and the video stops updating.

Another stream I frequent started having a new issue. At first I thought it was those specific streams, but then it started to happen with more streams. This only seems to happen with some streams, not all. Normally the delay is around 10-15 seconds. Some streams take 30+ seconds to load, giving me that 30+ second delay behind the streamer. I enjoy using it to find people to play games online with or to be inspired creatively. On it, people stream themselves playing games, doing creative things, etc.
